Report
a Fake!
In 2000 we launched S.C.R.U. Squash and the "Player
Logo" debuted.
In 2002 Pacey + Pacey Design created a logo for "Just
Ask", a Vancouver-based concierge service. This logo received
acclaim and was published in Rockport Publishing's "Logos and Letterheads:
Vol 8" in 2003.
Just last week a young squash player named Carlos,
here from Colombia to compete in the Canadian Junior Open, showed
me a shirt he had purchased from "Art Squash" in Bucaramanga,
Colombia. Interestingly enough this shirt combined the two previously
mentioned logos but was news to both SCRU Squash and Pacey + Pacey
Design - meaning we didn't design it or sanction the use of either
logo.
While I've heard that imitation is the sincerest
form of flattery, I consider it theft and I'd like to ask our squash
friends in South America to think twice before buying counterfeit
designs from this fellow. (Yes, we know who you are.)
We will be in contact with La FEDERACIÓN COLOMBIANA
DE SQUASH FEDESQUASH and will update this page soon. Until
then: Art Squash - Stop poaching!

The "Player Logo" is ©2000, SCRU Squash and the "Just
Ask Logo" is ©2002, Pacey + Pacey Design.

Ripped
off in Ecuador!
This photo was just sent to us by a SCRU Cru
member who attended the 2007 South American Junior Squash Championships
in Quito, Ecuador. Turns out that the fellow wearing this shirt
didn't think he had done anything wrong because, well, he just took
the logo from the internet and wasn't actually selling the shirts.
Nice.
And then they mess it up by putting a bumblebee on the logo? Jeez.
We know your name and your club hombre. You'll be hearing from us.
